Whittaker & Towler, CA's (W & T), formerly Whittaker & Associates, is an independent firm of Chartered Accountants focused on developing and maintaining long term relationships with clients by offering accounting, tax and business advisory services in a friendly and professional manner. We have an established accounting practice comprised of personal tax return clients and owner operated businesses located on the North Shore and in Metro Vancouver. We are proud of the services we provide and are confident that we can assist new clients with their accounting, tax and business matters. Fred Whittaker, CA has been practicing accounting since 1967, when he attained his CA designation. Fred has been part of the North Shore business community since 1992, when he moved his accounting practice from downtown Vancouver “across the water”, first to Edgemont Village and more recently to the Lonsdale Quay area. Fred, together with Warren Towler, CA, Fred’s son Roger, who is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Jill Worobec, who is also a CFP, operate a service oriented partnership which is capable of assisting you with your financial affairs, including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, tax returns, bank presentations, business consulting and financial planning.Our goal is to deliver professional accounting and consulting services to our clients with a personal touch. We take pride in the knowledgeable business and tax advice we offer and understand the importance of taking the time to listen to each client’s issues and offering the appropriate services for his or her situation at a sensible cost. | Warren Towler, CA |
Warren received his CA designation in 1989 and prior to joining Whittaker and Towler worked the previous 18 years in the real estate industry as a corporate controller. Earlier in his accounting career Warren worked several years for three medium sized accounting firms offering accounting and tax services to a wide variety of clients. Fred and Warren, having met through volunteer work as finance committee members of a large international charity, found that they worked well together and possessed similar attitudes towards professional service and how a small accounting firm should provide accounting, tax and business advice to their clients. In early 2008, seeking a change in career direction, Warren accepted Fred’s offer to join W & T. Warren enjoys dealing directly with clients as well as working closely with Fred and Roger to develop and expand W & T. Tax planning has always being an interest of Warren’s and he looks forward to assisting both personal and corporate clients with minimizing their tax burden. In addition to been a Chartered Accountant, Warren holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Victoria and a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia. Warren is married to Lara and has a beautiful daughter named Caroline. |

Roger has been working at Whittaker & Towler, CA's since 1988. Originally working at W & T on a part-time basis during tax seasons while he went to college and BCIT, he then continued in the business on a full-time basis in 1993. This has provided him with years of experience in personal tax preparation. His varied schooling and background has been useful in helping him provide his clients with a comprehensive money management strategy with tax reduction and wealth accumulation in mind. While not providing specific investment counselling, Roger concentrates instead on overall investment and wealth accumulation strategies to assist clients in reaching their future goals. The financial planning strategies are then incorporated in conjunction with the accounting perspectives to give our clients the information they can use in optimizing their financial outlook. His post-secondary education includes receiving his diploma of Occupational Health and Safety, is currently a practicing CFP (Certified Financial Planner) since receiving his designation in 2001, and is working towards obtaining his Certified General Accountant designation in the accounting field. Roger has been married to his wife Heide since 1991 and together they have 3 wonderful children, Connor, Marshall and Kiersten. |
| C. Fred Whittaker, CA |
Fred has been in the accounting profession for over 40 years. He received his Chartered Accounting designation in 1967 and has worked for various accounting firms as well as for himself at different times in the past. For the last 15 years or so he has worked for himself, which he much prefers. He moved his office from downtown Vancouver to the Edgemont Village location in North Vancouver, B.C. in 1992 and in July 2007, moved to the current Esplanade location, close to the Seabus and the Lonsdale Quay. Along with his colleagues Warren Towler and son Roger , he provides accounting and financial planning services to clients both on the North Shore and all over the lower mainland of Vancouver. |
